Choosing a UK liposuction clinic and planning recovery

Liposuction changes selected contours rather than universally treating obesity or removing every stretch mark. NHS explains indications, limitations and risks ↗. Discuss anatomy, skin and realistic outcomes with the surgeon.
Lipoedema or lymphoedema requires separate clinical assessment and funding consideration. A cosmetic package should not automatically be applied to disease or assumed eligible for NHS payment.
Check surgeon and premises
Verify GMC registration, relevant specialisation, experience, insurance and anaesthesia arrangements. Speaking to a coordinator does not replace meeting the operating surgeon. Allow time to decide.
CQC includes instrument-based liposuction within surgical procedures ↗, including local-anaesthetic treatment. Check the operating location's registration in England. Other UK nations have their own regulators.
Risk and recovery
Discuss bleeding, infection, contour irregularity, sensation changes, clots and anaesthetic risk. Disclose conditions, medicines, smoking and previous operations. Do not stop medication without an agreed clinical plan.
Obtain individual guidance for work, driving, exercise, compression garments and reviews. Arrange transport and home assistance. Breathlessness, chest pain or other acute postoperative symptoms require immediate medical help.
Complete cost
Request areas, surgeon, anaesthetic, facility, garment, medicine and follow-up charges. Clarify complication treatment and aesthetic revision separately. NHS price information is background rather than a personal clinic quote; obtain an assessed written estimate.
Evaluate results after swelling subsides rather than the next day. Establish dissatisfaction arrangements and do not add a larger area merely because it is discounted.
