Compare model, size, condition, accessories and disclosed defects with the listing. Keep packaging and delivery labels. Photograph the whole item and the specific discrepancy; an isolated close-up is less useful without context.
Avoid pressing Everything is OK before checking. Under Vinted Buyer Protection ↗, use I have an issue within two days of the relevant delivery or apparent-loss notification from Vinted. Ordinary seller messages do not replace the formal action.
Describe the actual issue
Distinguish damage, significant listing discrepancies, suspected counterfeits and simple unsuitability. Provide the listing, photographs and a short chronology. Request a specific resolution without insults or lengthy unfocused exchanges.
Follow instructions in the order and from support. Avoid returning goods independently to a new address from an external message before the official process is agreed. Establish deadlines, shipping method and responsibility for return costs in your case.
If you are selling
Retain your own condition and contents photographs before dispatch. Vinted's branded-item photo guidance ↗ helps prepare evidence. Hiding damage for a quick sale undermines both trust and dispute handling.
Compare complaint evidence with your description, answer specifically and observe platform deadlines. Do not demand confirmation before inspection. Packing photographs and receipts are useful but do not automatically decide every dispute for you.
Security and outcome
Keep payments and refunds within the official process. Independently verify “receive compensation” links sent by another user; never disclose bank codes or enter card details on an unfamiliar page. Open the app yourself.
Retain the case reference and support decision. Use an available review channel and applicable rights if unresolved, accounting for whether the seller is private or a business. Platform protection is not automatically identical to ordinary online-shop returns.
