Define the role

Prepare the CV
Use clear descriptions of responsibilities and results, adapting the order to the vacancy. Explain experience that may be unfamiliar to a UK employer. Keep personal and identity details appropriate to the stage of the application.
Read the vacancy
Confirm hours, location, contract type, pay information and who employs you. Research the organisation through its official site. Avoid paying a supposed recruiter simply to secure an interview.
Track applications
Record role, employer, application date and next action. Tailor a short cover message to the actual requirements. Prepare examples for an interview and questions about the working arrangements.
Before accepting
Read the written offer and contract, check start arrangements and keep copies. A community recommendation can be useful but does not replace verifying the employer and your right to work.
