Identify the business you are paying

Read contact details, business information and returns terms. Find the actual seller's name and complaints address. Trading names can differ from legal names, but their relationship to the payment recipient should be explainable. HTTPS protects a connection; it does not certify an honest retailer.

Citizens Advice describes possible scam indicators ↗. Seek reviews outside the shop's website, considering dates and specific experiences. Hundreds of identical enthusiastic comments tell little about delivery or problem resolution.

Assess the complete offer

A remarkably low price calls for checking volume, version, condition and seller. The item might be a miniature, older pack or incomplete set. A discount alone does not prove counterfeiting, but an unexplained difference deserves scrutiny.

Check dispatch timing, warehouse country, postage, import charges and returns destination. Sterling pricing does not establish UK dispatch. On marketplaces, inspect the seller behind the particular listing.

Use clear payment terms

Keep the basket, product listing, total and confirmation. Avoid transferring money to a private individual outside the platform for a small discount. Check your payment provider's rules; dispute options depend on method and circumstances.

Look for subscriptions or repeat deliveries. A free trial may lead to subsequent charges under its terms. Understand cancellation timing and contact methods before paying rather than after the first parcel arrives.

If the order seems wrong

Photograph packaging, batch identification, seals and differences from the listing. OPSS lists cosmetic product information ↗. Do not apply a suspicious or inadequately labelled product while seeking clarification.

Contact the seller in writing with order details and a specific requested remedy. If fraud is suspected, promptly contact your payment provider through its official channel. Do not pay an additional “refund release” fee or disclose verification codes to an unsolicited caller.
