How to book UK visa biometrics outside the UK

Open the official UK visa application centre directory ↗ and select the country. Follow its operator link because providers, addresses and booking arrangements can change. An old community link does not establish the current official centre.
Check your visa route’s application-location rules, your lawful presence in that country and required evidence. GOV.UK allows another country’s centre where the country of residence has none. That does not remove the destination country’s entry rules or your application’s requirements.
Submit the visa application first
You must apply for the visa before booking at an overseas centre. Save the application reference, email link and access to the email account. Check whether you are instructed to attend biometrics or offered another permitted identity-verification method.
When entering the operator’s system, verify the country, centre, name and application reference. For families, check each person’s appointment. Avoid competing accounts or paying for another visa merely because a booking email is in spam.
Separate optional services
Compare standard and paid appointments by what they actually provide: a convenient time, upload assistance, scanning or other centre services. A paid lounge or document assistance does not mean a faster UKVI decision. Priority processing is separate and not available for every application.
Before paying, save the price, cancellation conditions and the exact inclusions. Check whether you can upload documents yourself, when uploads close and what must be brought. If appointments are unavailable, use operator support and check your own account. A third party’s guarantee does not establish that a genuine slot exists.
Prepare for the appointment
Take your passport, booking confirmation and documents specified by your personal checklist. Check child-accompaniment and accessibility arrangements. Do not assume one universal passport-retention process: follow the instructions for your application and centre.
UKVI’s processing guidance ↗ normally starts the decision clock after the required identity and document steps, rather than when you begin searching for an appointment. Keep the biometric receipt and monitor further instructions. Courier tracking or attendance at the centre does not establish that the visa has been approved.
