Start with quantity and fabric

A monogrammed shirt and a hundred event T-shirts need different suppliers. SOJO describes personalisation through its consultation service ↗, while Printsome offers batch printing and embroidery ↗. Checked on 7 October 2026, Printsome lists a minimum of 20 garments or £200 excluding VAT; that format may not suit a single present.

Specify fabric composition, colour, design size and quantity. Silk, stretchy jersey and heavy jackets react differently to stitches or heat. Ask whether the provider accepts your garments or only its own stock.

Prepare a precise design

Give the exact wording, capitalisation, typeface and placement measurements. Logos need suitable files, and embroidery digitisation may cost extra. Establish permission to reproduce an image before ordering.

Approve a visual proof. Screen colour cannot promise an exact thread or ink match, so request a physical sample for important corporate colours. Check Cyrillic lettering and unusual punctuation character by character.

Compare the complete quotation

Include garments, artwork preparation, decoration, packaging, VAT and delivery. Ask whether different names or design dimensions change the price. Rush work and small quantities should be quoted separately from bulk rates.

Establish whether production time begins at payment, garment receipt or proof approval. For an event, agree the arrival date and leave time to correct mistakes. An advertised express option does not mean every material qualifies.

Handover and inspection

Photograph your own garment and record its condition and value. Ask about damage responsibility and testing on similar material, especially before handing over an irreplaceable item.

On arrival, check spelling, quantity, sizes, positioning and reverse-side finish. Obtain washing and ironing instructions. If something is wrong, retain the approved proof and photographs to distinguish a design decision from an execution error.
